  As Paul Vixie pointed out, there are a lot of differences in other
areas of the machine...I/O stuff, clocks/timers, peripheral
controllers (serial ports, scsi, etc etc) and stuff like that.  DEC
has been less than verbose about documenting those things in the past;
I hope that doesn't stand in the way too badly.
