Still Having Problems, New Twist:

Well, since I was getting nowhere with the SCSI controller I thought I
would try a RA81 we have laying around that use to be on that machine.

So I dragged (quite literaly, they weigh a ton) and took out the SCSI card
and inserted the other controler card and then booted the copy of VMS that
was on the RA81. It booted just fine and I then ran diagnostics and then
also opened the drive, hooked a terminal to the diagnostics port and ran
the drive diagnostics TO MAKE SURE that it was working right.

So I looked in the "disktab" file to get the RA81 parameteres and wrote
a disk label with the "edlabel" program. I then re-booted and went back
into "edlabel" and checked to make sure a label was written right and it
was.

So I then re-booted and started up the "copy" program and copied the
"mini-root" over to the RA81. I know that it did something because
the drive came online and did alot of disk access (just like with
the SCSI drive).

So once again I re-booted and went to boot from the "mini-root" on
the RA81. It then DID THE SAME THING THE SCSI DISK'S DID AND WOULDN'T
BOOT, IT SAID IT COULDN'T FIND THE FILE OR DIRECTORY.

So, it seems that my problem isn't my SCSI controller or hard disks.
I'm wondering if I have a corrupted file on my boot tape.

Any one have any Ideas?

Any help would be appreciated.
