Thanks Tim but ... like a goof I didn't give proper credit - a fellow
named Ken Lalonde (who worked here many years ago when I first started)
made these changes I believe.

While struggling with 2.11 on an 11/83 and a SCSI version (SQ607A) I ran
into the initialization step problem (I think it was on STEP3) and from
looking at our local changes here, made a much smaller change to 2.11
and passed it back to Steve. Only this weekend did I run into the same
sort of thing with a ka650 & 4.3 reno with an SMD version (DQ256) and
simply folded in all the tweaks I posted to get things to function.
