There is no such thing as TK58. Do you mean TK50 or TU58? These two
are quite different beasts. The former holds 95MB, the latter 240KB
(no, this isn't a typo, it's kilobytes).

As to VMS, it is possible. VMS has a Standalone Backup utility which
can be booted from tape or floppies, and, among other features, is
capable of making an image of a physical disk (with a /PHYSICAL
qualifier). Of course, to restore it, you also need a copy of this
utility, or another decoder of its format (there is one at DECUS,
but I don't know if it can cope with the /PHYSICAL format).
