mt xinu for VAX (at least the version I had) is almost plain 4.3BSD
with some things added (nfs, yp, ...). There may be incompatibles 
with system call from that, but the kernel shouldn't crash.
What panic do you get? Maybe you could send me an ls binary so 
I can check what's wrong.
