I'm not a newbie to NetBSD, but I've never tried it on a sun3 before.
I've had this 3/60 sitting here for a long time and decided to fire it up.

My tftp server is a mac running netbsd, and my nfs server is a pc running
redhat 6.0. I made sure to bring up mountd in nfs v2 mode. other netbsd
machines can mount the redhat box's /export filesystem. I'm trying to get
NetBSD 1.4 (the latest one I happen to have on CD) to work on my 3/60 with
a serial console.

Here's this on the mac:
# cat /etc/ethers
8:0:20:0:99:BF sunbear

and this:

# cat /etc/bootparams
sunbear root=192.42.172.42:/export/sunbear/root gateway=192.42.172.1:0xffffff00
#
192.42.172.1 is the ip address of the mac, which does nat for a group of
machines, as well as (temporarily) running the netboot services.

Here's the /tftpboot directory:
# ls -l /tftpboot
total 1373
lrwxr-xr-x  1 root  wheel       14 May 21 22:14 C02AACC9 -> netbsd-rd.sun3
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 202 May 21 17:12 _idx
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 7268 May 9 1999 bootxx
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 49152 May 8 1999 installboot
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 17408 May 9 1999 netboot
-r-xr-xr-x 1 root wheel 1295771 May 21 16:37 netbsd-rd.sun3
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 8192 May 9 1999 tapeboot
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 10240 May 9 1999 ufsboot
#

And, I've set up the filesystem according to:
http://www.netbsd.org/Documentation/network/netboot/nfs.html

The filesystem, of course, is on the linux box.

I've tried linking C02AACC9 to every one of those boot files in /tftpboot,
and none of them really do anything.

I'm getting this:

>b le()
Boot: le(0,0,0)
Using IP Address 192.42.172.201 = C02AACC9
Booting from tftp server at 192.42.172.1 = C02AAC01
Downloaded 1295771 bytes from tftp server.

Timeout Bus Error:
 Vaddr: 1FFFE008, Paddr: 00BFC008, Type 0, Read, FC 5, Size 2 at 0004006

Can anyone tell me what I might be doing wrong?
Thanks.
