The answers to both these questions will have to wait till I try them out on the
NetBSD system as I will not have access to it till later today.

tcp-wrappers? I have heard of such things but do not know much.
How can I tell?

as I say, this will have to wait a bit. From what I can remember it was much the
same for mountd as the linux box but the port number was different (in the 700s
I think).

100005 1 udp ??? mountd
