I run my 3/160 off the serial port using a vt100 terminal.  It works fine,
but is not X-friendly.  I dunno if the 3/50 will do that, but most suns
will run off the serial port (9600/8/n/1) just fine.  You may have to
flip the diag/normal switch to diag or set the nvram to boot off the
serial port, and pull the keyboard plug.  That should do well for a
server box.

A good sun3 resource is the sun3 archives site at sun3arc.krupp.net
by ftp or http.  That is a lifesaver site for old sun3 info.
