This should really appear in a FAQ somewhere (does it?).

Sun/3 shoeboxes have an Emulex MD-21 ESDI-SCSI bridgeboard.  I have
a 1558 in one shoebox and it works fine with NetBSD.

For some later ESDI drives you need a later revision of the MD-21.
