Run the server with -kb to turn off the keyboard extension.
I presume that there is a better way to do this, through the keyboard
extension, but I don't understand it.

When I run xset -q I get:

Keyboard Control:
auto repeat: on key click percent: 0 LED mask: 00000000
  auto repeating keys: ffffffffffffffff
                        ffffffffffffffff
                        ffffffffffffffff
                        ffffffffffffffff

I need a FAQ for this!
