I wouldn't be surprised if there were some internal prototypes
of the 3/60 with internal disks, but nothing like this was ever
put into production by Sun. None of the 3/60's out there have
internal mounting hardware for a hard disk, so there's not too
much point in ripping yours apart.
Plus... the weakpoint on both the 3/50 and 3/60 chassis is the
power-supply connector. It will probably take the extra current
of a disk drive... but it'll just flake out that much sooner
(look out for the brown frazzled plastic and the burnt connector
pins). This will kill your system.
You're much, much better off going with an external disk.
