I've had a third 3/60 sitting around at my place for some time. It
belongs to a friend: he has no hard disk for it yet.
I decided to swap motherboards (recall my problems with memory
faults, always the same physical address regardless of which SIMM is
where). I had 12Mb of ram waiting to go into my machine. I put it into
my friends' motherboard (which had no ram either), set the jumpers and
plugged it into my case.

I got a kernel panic. MMU fault trap. Hmm. A couple of tries, and
then I decided that my motherboard was more reliable! I moved 4Mb from
the second board to mine (adjusting the jumper to say 12Mb) and I get
the same panic! Here is the latest. The boot messages are appended
below. I haven't gotten -current compiled in some time. Partly because
my machine looses. IDEAS? I'm about to pick up a spare (empty) 3/60 that is
doing nothing from another friend.
