This problem does exist in the 1.1 kernel; I'm running straight
1.1 on my 3/60 and I got bitten by the bug twice in the week since
I got this machine up. I'm not clear on the details of the first
one, but the second one was a classic case; anything linked against
a shared library would core dump. My system had been up for about
two days at that time.

I managed to get a couple of programs that I'd compiled (and thus
had namelists) to dump, but my backtrace was only:

#0 0x2072046 in end ()
#1 0xc5 in ?? ()

which I didn't find very helpful. I gather Gordon has gotten a ways
past this this point in the debugging, anyway.

I'll think about what I can do to track this down, but, not being
a kernel hacker, don't wait for me to appear with the fix. :-)
