What command did you try?  (i.e.: edlabel /dev/rsd0c)
What relevant message did autoconfig print? (sd0 ...)

The NetBSD SCSI driver allows labeling a brand new disk, however, an
unlabeled disk can only be opened on the "raw" partition. (/dev/rsd?c)
