"ef" in the first byte seems wrong.  From a quick check of wikipedia:

  "Universal/local and individual/group bits in MAC addresses"

  "Multicast (group)" "XF-XX-XX-XX-XX-XX"

I don't think that anyone will complain if you reuse Sun's 08:00:20 for
the first half.

For:

The barcode/numbers on the top could be decoded by Sun in the past.
However, at this point in time, I would say - yes, the original is lost
forever.  If you want to keep them when replacing the chips or adding a
battery, you will have to write them down somewhere.
