I created that file with following line:

keycode 123 = BSlash

I restarted X but same result: nothing happens if I press "#". I
think ./Xmodmap wasn't loaded...

If I try to load the file with xmodmap ~/.Xmodmap I get the following
error:
================
no-panic-hihihi$ xmodmap /home/helgoman/.Xmodmap
xmodmap: /home/helgoman/.Xmodmap:1: bad keysym name 'BSlash' in keysym
list
xmodmap:  1 error encountered, aborting.
================

What is the meaning of "BSlash"? Isn't it "backslash"?

I switched ~/.Xmodmap to:

keycode 123 = numbersign apostrophe numbersign apostrophe grave grave
grave

I loaded it manually as above and now I get the numbersign (#) :-)

Do you know what to do to load that automaticly if I "startx"?

Greetings,
Helge
