/netbsd: panic: cpu0: ipi_send: couldn't send ipi to UPAID2

Hello,

I have the following system

NetBSD squirrel.home.nifelheim.info 5.1_STABLE NetBSD 5.1_STABLE
(SQUIRREL-1.0) #0: Sat Jan 29 22:37:03 CET 2011
root%panther.home.nifelheim.info@localhost:/build/work/sparc64/squirrel/obj/build/src/sys/arch/sparc64/compile/SQUIRREL
sparc64

which was working quite fine for several weeks now. Since last weekend, I
experience sudden kernel-panics with the error-message in the subject.

I cannot provide a core-dump, because I don't have enought space in /var
nor on any mount-point sysctl would accept as alternative location.

Details about the machine (including a complete dmesg-dump) can be found
here:

http://blog.nifelheim.info/tech/my-computers/squirrel-sun-ultra-60/

The most important fact is probably that this U60 has two 450 MHz
UltraSPARC II CPUs and 2GB RAM.

I cannot provide much details, but I can reproduce the panic by running
"pump make update" in pkgsrc/security/gpgme. (Building and installing mutt
on the other hand has worked fine)

"pump" is a tool from devel/distcc-pump. I am using distcc and pump for
quite some time so I don't really believe that this is the cause.

Building gpgme (using pump, too), has worked in the past, and I have
actually no idea, what might be wrong.
The only significant changes I have made, is adding a second graphics-card
and a frontpanel with a usb-multi-card-reader / usb-hub in the meantime,
and OHCI is failing with obscure errors. I haven't noticed those failures
before adding that frontpanel, but I haven't looked for them, either.
Though I don't see how, I wonder if this might be the source of the
problem.

Any ideas what might be the problem?

- Volkmar
