I'm having trouble with leafnode news server on sparc64 when a client
connects.

I can run the server on the command line and manually enter NNTP
commands, and it appears to function perfectly.

But when a client connects over the net (leafnode runs from inetd),
leafnode dies fairly quickly after connection.

I put ktrace in /etc/inetd.conf and had it run leafnode for port 119 so
I could get a trace, and it shows it dying right after the connection
with a bus error. It happens very fast and I don't know if it really
dies there, or ktrace simply didn't get all of the information.

I wanted to get some information about how I should debug this or if
anyone might have the same issue.

What is a general cause, if any, for bus errors in NetBSD sparc64 when a
process is started from inetd?

Anything to shorten the debugging time would be appreciated.
