yes, installing gd-php didnt seem to do anything for php. (without editing 
php4/Makefile.php)

that machine is being used by my developers, so i'll give it another go on 
a pristine ultra2 later this month.

Whats the story with the SMP kernels, who was last working on them, and 
now do i get to work fixing them?
