I don't know about Solaris, but IIRC OSF/1 (at least the Alpha version,
there was an early MIPS version too) is LP64 only. I had lots of "fun"
when I used OSF/1 as my main desktop OS compiling LinsuxGNUware with the
DEC compiler on this LP64 platform...
