The whole thing needs to be cleaned up. The current way to switch
virtual consoles is counter-intuitive because the key combination you
use isn't platform-dependent - it's determined by the keyboard type.=20
Consider this:
On i386 you switch using Crtl-Alt-Fn.
On sparc64 you use Stop-Fn with a Sun keyboard but connect a USB
keyboard and it's Ctrl-Alt-Fn again. ( unless you're using a Sun Type 6
USB which actually has a Stop key ).
The same goes for macppc - on an ADB keyboard it's Command-Fn, but on a
USB one it's Ctrl-Alt-Fn again, even if it's an Apple keyboard that has
a Command key. And if you want real confusion connect a USB Type 6 to a
Mac...
( disclaimer: there's no official support for virtual consoles on
macppc, I'm using a hack that allows me to use other drivers than ofb. )
have fun
Michael
