Hi,

Next silly question.

So, the ultra 2 arrived while I was on vacation, along with the 300mhz
processors.

As predicted the boot prom is too old for the 300mhz processors, so, I
got the latest sun ultra 2 boot prom patch from Sun, patch 104169-08,
and I wanted to reflash the proms.

I tried just

boot disk patch

where /patch is the link to the right file and it failed with
an illegal instruction. Is it possible that the netbsd bootloader
can't load what would basically be a Sun kernel?

It looks like I could follow the instructions in the bootable CD
how-to with the command

 sunbootcd.sh output.iso - - - - boot.fs

but then I need to build a bootable fs with this patch, right?

Is there an easier way? I guess I could net boot, right?

Or I guess I could install Solaris N, patch, and then re-install netbsd.
This isn't so painful yet since I've just done the basic config and not done
anything special to this system yet.

Thanks!

cheers

bruce
