3.0_BETA does still have the gem/hme lockup that's cleared by 
'ifconfig hme0 down up'.

I'm using pflkm on 2.0.2, and the built-in PF on 3.0_BETA, so maybe
that has something to do with it.  But I use pflkm on alpha without
these problems.  It could also just be that others are using sparc64
as a host, not a router.  I don't know why it is but it happens about
once an hour and looks like it's not getting fixed soon.  I'll try
FreeBSD next.

I'm not using ALTQ on either, because on 2.0.2 ALTQ drops packets
randomly while it doesn't on alpha, and for 3.0_BETA there is no
PF/ALTQ patch yet---in fact AFAICT you can't even build a kernel with
both PF and old-ALTQ enabled.  so, it's not ALTQ causing this.
