No. All kernels with /some/ wsdisplay should work.

Probably nothing. This looks like a stupid video driver tried to mmap
the legacy VGA framebuffer - shouldn't happen.=20

Hmm, the vga driver is built and installed for some reason - maybe XFree
tried to use it. Move /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/vga_drv.o somewhere
else and try again.

If that doesn't help - the driver's Makefile may be missing a bunch of
options - please download this:=20
ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/misc/macallan/sparc64/ati_modules.tar.bz2
unpack it to /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/ and try again.
