Yet an other update:
I netbooted 2.0.2 sparc64 on the machine and instaled -current by hand.
This worked. When I boot the 3.99.3 system directories loose there
contens sometimes but if I know the file name I still can access the file:
# ls -la /root
# echo /root/*
/root/*
# ls -la /root/.shrc
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 204 Apr 1 2001 /root/.shrc
# ls -ld /root/etc
drwxr-xr-x 23 root wheel 2048 May 11 08:49 /root/etc
# mount
/dev/sd0a on / type ffs (soft dependencies, local)
/dev/sd0f on /usr type ffs (soft dependencies, local)
/dev/sd0e on /nfsroot type ffs (read-only, local)
--=20
