You can use your Rage Pro, guess what I'm using to write this message :)

It /should/ but it's never been tested. You'll have to build X from xsrc
anyway for now ( src/x11 will produce flaky binaries ), for a 32bit
userland you'll probably have to hack some config files to build XFree86
instead of Xsun.

Ouch...=20

Both will work as console, but only the Rage Pro will work properly with
XFree. For some reason it doesn't like the Rage II - feel free to poke
around - I have no way to do that myself right now since I don't have
the hardware ( my U10 has a Rage Pro ). Please mail me the dmesg
output of the machine and a PCI device dump ( pcictl pci1 dump -d
2 on my box ) of the Rage II - I'm still looking for answers to the
question why the hell machfb is happily using it and XFree isn't. Maybe
XFree tries to access some IO stuff on the II but not on the Pro, I
don't know.

This stuff is brand new and needs testing :)

These probably wouldn't work too well on Creator-style hardware anyway.

have fun
Michael
