hi,

AFAICS it's 'their own brewed' chipset they use -- don't know whether
it works the way you want.

however, i set up an U10/440 last week with a SIL680-based controller
(Ultra ATA/IDE 133 says the controller's datasheet, it's a commodity
card from the dealer around the corner); by default, it comes up at
*ATA100* speed (don't know why, didn't try to change, don't think that
it's coming from the HDs since they're brand new Samsung 80GByte's), so
maybe this is what you think of not working at full speed (well, i back
this here ;).

at least, this card works (except a possible speed issue i didn't go
further into) very well, i set the machine up booting from a CF with
the controller holding a RAID1 RAIDframe.

cheers,
