hi,

i'd like to boot my U10 from a CF card (which resides on the first IDE
channel on board) so that NetBSD can mount the HDs attached to a non-OF
proof IDE controller.

i tried to boot from cd-rom (i followed the instructions in [1]), but
here i end in the installation procedure -- i want it only to boot the
kernel, nothing else. same applies to the CF card.

has anyone built such a config? how do i make the CF bootable?

i disklabelled it, newfs'ed it (ffsv1), copied a kernel to it and made
it bootable (i think) via

/usr/sbin/installboot -v /dev/rwd1a /usr/mdec/bootblk
File system: /dev/rwd1a
File system type: ffs (blocksize 8192, needswap 0)
Primary bootstrap: /usr/mdec/bootblk
Bootstrap start sector: 1
Bootstrap byte count: 4915
Writing bootstrap

but this doesn't work for me; when booting, the machine finds the
NetBSD bootloader, but then it hangs (even before there's access to the
kernel)...
