So it seems, somebody posted to me off list saying that gtk-2 port of 
firefox could be broken on 64-bit platforms, but gtk-1 port should work. 
I'll give that a try, because I'm running gtk-1 port of firefox and 
thunderbird on the same machine with Solaris 9, however Googling around 
did not seem to bring any gtk-2 firefox binaries for Solaris.
