I have trawled the 'net, and the NetBSD mailing lists but so far have
been unable to find anyone who has managed to get the USB keyboard
working with a Sun Blade 100 so it could be used as a workstation (with
X, etc). I have seen many references to it "being possible with
2.0_BETA", etc.
I have installed NetBSD 2.0_BETA, and compiled a kernel using GENERIC (&
GENERIC32) as a base. I made a small mod to my copy of GENERIC32 to
include the ukbd* driver (cut & paste from the i386 GENERIC config).
Recompiled the kernel, installed and rebooted, and when the keyboard is
plugged in it is recognised by the kernel which now loads the ukbd
driver (the GENERIC kernel uses the uhidev driver from memory) as
expected, but pressing the [Enter] key on the Sun USB keyboard yields no
results. So my hack seems to get the USB interface to load the driver,
but the console does not seem to use the attached keyboard.
If you have any information, especially a working kernel config, then
please let me know.
Many thanks
PS The sound card (autri0) works beautifully which impressed a friend of
mine who has been using Debian/Linux for SPARC without being able to get
sound to work.
