Has anybody used one of these in an Ultra 10 and got the firmware to
   recognise it? Since the chipset is a newer version of the CMD chipset
   on the motherboard, it might be possible to get the firmware to
   recognise using the mechanism I (unsuccessfuly) tried with the Promise
   cards.


i didn't bother trying to make it bootable - at the point i
installed this card i just wanted my server to be stable...

i'd be surprised if your prior hack didn't work somehow...
