FWIW, i never managed to get my U10 to boot consistently and
sanely from the ide card. as i'm running netbsd the problems
with the solaris driver are irrelevant... my current solution
is that my old root disk (9G) is now just a boot partition and
the ide card is connected to two (partially raiddframe mirrored)
disks for the OS/etc...
