right, so I gave it a try and... it fails ;(
in fact, it loops "into the kernel" (check end of mail).

if anyone has a clue of what's happening and how to solve this...
for infos, I did boot the machine with linux/debian and it didn't loop
(so I guess it's not a hardware problem)
