if you build a kernel that supports only the devices and features
that you want, it probably will run the slightest bit faster than
the GENERIC kernel will.  on the sb100, you can for instance remove
all 'sbus' and related devices.  on my ultra5/10 kernel, i can save
well over 2MB of kernel text.
