Yes, this seems to be bad interaction between a pkgsrc fix for old systems
(mainly ports using the a.out object format) and the new (and still buggy)
toolchain used on sparc64. There is a thread discussing this issue and
possible solutions on tech-toolchain, see the archives and look for "perl"
in the subject.

Management summary: the toolchain fixing will take some more time, but a
possible (easy) workaround for pkgsrc has been identified.

So it should work (again) soon.
