the "miniroot" image you're looking for is (wrongly) called "ramdisk.fs". it
needs to be written to, eg., the swap partition or a spare disk. the problem
with the swap partition method is that currently sysinst won't deal with then
installing to this disk, except if you're really tricky to make it keep the same
swap partition when it rewrite the disklabel & newfs's disks.

the INSTALL document includes several ways of installing.. if you have two disks,
i would write ramdisk.fs to the one you _don't_ want to install on, and boot that.

but netbsd should otherwise be fine on the ultra1. as 1.5 is the first release
of NetBSD/sparc64, it _isn't_ as stable as other NetBSD ports tend to be, so we'd
be really interested in your observations compared to linux! there have been several
stability fixes to NetBSD-current that are not present in 1.5 (but should be in
1.5.1 when that comes out later).

good luck :)
