I got my -current (NFS only) installation updated (last booted 6.0_BETA)
via le0 and then switched to hme0.

It gets further. Mounted the NFS root and did everything fine up until
(re-)configuring the network w/dhcpcd. Then the device timeouts began.
sending a BREAK to drop in to ddb, I forgot to specify to not sync
disks on reboot and it hung there.

Following the power-cycle, it seemed to behave better and 'dhcpcd'
configured the network (although some part of the process claimed there
was a bad checksum from my DHCP server). It proceeded all the way to a
login: prompt on constty. I'd left it that way for a little over an
hour, but when I came back, trying to log in is stuck. (I just pressed
<enter> at the prompt. The cursor moved to the start of the next line
and stayed like that.)

Switching to static network configuration post-boot seems to make little
difference. I got to log in and tweaked a couple of configuration files,
but the machine hung when I issued a 'shutdown' command. (no kernel messages
at all duing the two hangs observed (login: and 'shutdown').

Trying hme1, it ran the 'rc' scripts up until it tried to start 'syslogd'
at which point the "hme1: device timeout" messages began.

It worked fine back in netbsd-5 (6_BETA dmesg showed still using qec/qe
card), except that using it as a NAT router/firewall broke websites and
made FTP impossible.
