tty framebuffer hang

Hello
I upgraded 2 systems to 5.1, one with a cgsix and one with a bwtwo,
and both exibit hangs when lots of stuff gets printed on console
(maybe it's related to scrolling ?). One reliable way to cause
the hang is displaying a file with less.

Is there a fix or workaround for this ?
