That's good enough. If you got your Xserver from the same place you
already have what I've been talking about.

If your Xserver is recent and the mouse cursor behaves properly there's
no need to change anything.

The newer XFree driver supports some more hardware acceleration:
(II) p9100(0): Using XFree86 Acceleration Architecture (XAA)
        Screen to screen bit blits
        Solid filled rectangles
        Indirect CPU to Screen color expansion
        Solid Lines
        Offscreen Pixmaps
        Setting up tile and stipple cache:
                32 128x128 slots
                14 256x256 slots
