Thanks again.  Just as proof I did a build release and the results are:

         Successful make release
         build.sh started: Sun Jan 22 16:33:44 UTC 2006
         build.sh ended:   Fri Jan 27 16:01:53 UTC 2006

and nary a .core file in sight.

Excellent.  OTOH, I won't be doing that too often :-)
