I dont have the JavaStation anymore, but this is what is still in my
dhcpd.conf:

#       host 192.168.1.77 {
#               hardware ethernet       8:0:20:7d:d1:a7;
#               fixed-address           192.168.1.77;
#               filename                "netbsd";
#               option root-path        "/export/js";
#               next-server             192.168.1.2;
#               option host-name        "js";
#       }

I tested the JS with these settings and it worked. I think I had a similar
problem and removing the 'host:' part from 'root-path' solved it.
