So it was what I thought it is.

Yes and no - it's leftover debug output I forgot to suppress.

Does CPU sleep mode work? When idle the unit should cool down slowly or
at least stop heating up. envstat should tell you ( envstat -i 30 will
display measurements every 30 seconds, just run it in a virtual console
)
