Thanks for the pointers. I'm running on a recompiled kernel, and have started
recompiling some of my applications, with some improvements in performance.

PS - If anyone has a source of reasonably affordable 32MB simms for these 
machines, I'd love to be able to max mine out. Same goes for 24-bit capable
frame buffers.
