My experience is that the 'fb' software layer developper a couple of
years ago by Keith Packard is quite faster than the original 'cfb'
layer used by the Xsun driver, even on cgsix with hardware acceleration
on Xsun and without acceleration (using the wsfb driver in a XFree86
X server on OpenBSD).

And I think that it shouldn't be too hard to support cgsix acceleration
through XAA in the XFree86 driver. It's just that no one cared to do
it.
