I ended up trying links-gui, dillo and chimera. Other possibilities are=20
mMosiac and Arena, but they don't support newer flavours of HTML.

Links-gui had some bizarre behaviour. When it started up the colours on m=
y=20
entire display went weird for a moment, then once it was running, the col=
ours=20
would go strange whenever I had my mouse inside the links-gui window. If =
I=20
moved the mouse outside the windows, the colours would go back to normal.

Dillo and Chimera both look okay, although Dillo seems to lay the page ou=
t=20
better than Chimera. The problem is that both of them are terribly unstab=
le,=20
segfaulting to often to be useful. In both cases the segfault actually oc=
curs=20
inside the X11 libraries somewhere, but I'm thinking it could actually be=
 due=20
to general NetBSD on IPC instability which I remember reading about some =
time=20
ago (something to do with flushing the cache?).

Thanks to all who replied to my post.

cheers,

John
