The Quadra on-board ethernet is a SONIC chip, which does do DMA, and has
reasonably good performance.

68k macs unfortunatley suffer from a hideously broken interrupt
architecture, which severely limits performance in a lot of areas, which
isn't helped by a general lack of DMA.

That said, it should generally do the job fairly well.
