Sure sounds good to me.  But then, I already share your desire for
variety.  I've got eight different ports with six different CPU
architectures set up at home (sparc, sun3, i386, alpha, vax, macppc,
mac68k, next68k), though I must admit that most of them are turned off
most of the time.  (There are four machines up now, and they are sparc,
sparc, sun3, i386.)
