I would ideally tether an NCD to each of my SPARCs' consoles
(since I have an NCD near each of them). But, they seem to cause
the BREAK glitch when powered up/down while connected to the
SPARCs. OTOH, my portables seem to cause this problem more
if plugged/unplugged *while* powered up. It's too frustrating to
have to remember which device (mis)behaves in which manner... :-(

That would make sense (assuming the "device" doesn't have the same
"BREAK (mis?)detection" problem). I have a box on one machine
that gives me immunity (for that machine). So, makes you wonder why
the SPARCs don't incorporate similar "precautions" to make this
unnecessary... :-/
