thanks to everyone who responded regarding this problem.
i am now trying to build bind from pkgsrc. i have tried both
bind8 and bind9 and get the following error on both:

make: don't know how to make /usr/share/tmac/tmac.andoc. Stop

i have looked at all the fm's i could find, but still am not able to
grok this msg.  your help is appreciated.
