Well, I wouldn't call it "stretching" -- It's perfectly normal and well
within the specifications to allow a stub connection to a SCSI bus so
long as the stub length is under 10cm (for SCSI-II).  If you think about
it every connection to the bus is a stub of some length, even if it's
just the length of the pins in the connector.....
